Yup, I’ve been saying that they did this by design. The less money a brand spends paying commission the more budget they will have to pay tiktok directly for ad spend. It’s so grimy what they’re doing

Placement aside, the biggest issue is that the creator who converted the sale isn't getting the commission. That's the biggest issue. And returning the item negatively affects the brand which in turn affects our PPS score. The toggle needs to be REMOVED and we order refundable samples just like we did before all this BS

It’s even worse than that. I had to contact them a few weeks ago because I purchased a huge eyeshadow palette for a Bestie’s birthday coming up. There were only two left in stock. TikTok turned it into a refundable sample. I’m not even gonna have possession of the item and even if I did, it’s sold out within an hour of purchasing it so I would never have had the opportunity to try to sell it to meet the requirements and get the refund. They don’t even have a minimum in stock policy so that if they turn one of our purchases into a refundable sample, there should be enough in stock for us to receive the item and create content. They told me my only option was to return it. I’ve started shopping other places because of this and I’m a big spender.

I don’t understand what’s happening so if anybody is in shop and they just go byproducts, they automatically turn it into a refundable sample even when you’re just trying to purchase it outright and don’t wanna make videos on it?
