@pump_twiins: The machine pec fly / pec deck is a great exercise for targeting the chest — but your setup and technique can make a huge difference. Here’s what to focus on when performing this exercise: RIGHT SIDE (CORRECT): ✅ Posture: Keep your chest up and out, shoulders down and back (away from your ears), and maintain a natural arch in your back. Seat height: Adjust the seat so your hands are roughly in line with or slightly below your shoulders. This creates a better arm path for targeting the chest while reducing unnecessary stress on the shoulders. Elbows: Maintain a slight bend in your elbows as you move into the stretched position. As you bring the handles together, your arms can gradually straighten. At the end of the movement, bring your hands together and focus on squeezing your chest. Think about bringing your upper arms toward the sides of your chest rather than simply moving the handles. Control the entire movement and avoid using momentum. Make every rep intentional. Use the full range of motion and go deep into the stretch. Slow down and control this stretching phase instead of letting the weight pull you back. LEFT SIDE (INCORRECT): ❌ Posture: The shoulders are shrugged up toward the ears and the back is completely flat against the machine. This makes it harder to maintain a strong position for the chest. Seat height: The seat is too low, causing the hands to sit above shoulder level. This can shift more tension toward the front delts and place unnecessary stress on the shoulders. Elbows: The arms stay too bent at the end of the movement. Excessive elbow flexion shortens the effective range of motion and can reduce the quality of the chest contraction.
