@gamesdotgg: Ubisoft put Heroes of Might and Magic III Complete Edition on Steam for the first time ever and forgot to include the actual game. Anyone who paid $10 for it found an install weighing just 23.49 kilobytes, which when launched opened a command prompt displaying the message "Dummy executable. Ensure that you are on the right Steam branch." That was it. No game. The listing quickly hit 80% negative reviews on Steam, with one review reading: "23.49 KB of pure nostalgia. Best CMD prompt simulator of 2026. 10/10." The error persisted for around 10 hours before a 770MB update finally added the actual game files. The blunder came on the same night Ubisoft announced a full Heroes of Might and Magic III Remake built in the Snowdrop engine, launching in 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. #mightandmagic #heroesofmightandmagic #ubisoft #ubisoftgames #gamingnews
I don’t blame Ubisoft tbh. I blame anyone still buying Ubisoft games at this point. You did this to yourself

A bad launch doesn’t suddenly mean a studio is incapable of making good games. Rockstar launched GTA Online in a broken state. DICE launched Battlefield 4 broken. CDPR launched Cyberpunk in a disastrous state. Square Enix made FFXIV so badly they literally shut it down and rebuilt the entire game.
Ubisoft accidentally pushed the wrong Steam package for Heroes 3 and fixed it the same day. It’s embarrassing and absolutely worth laughing at, but acting like that proves Ubisoft has no talented developers is ridiculous. Great studios fuck up too.

That’s some next level incompetence. I don’t think I’ve heard a game that was supposed to release but they don’t release the right game, shits crazy

i dont get why this has people "furious" sure its a silly mistake that shouldn't have happened but isn't it also like a real easy fix? Just waiting for the devs to update the files? like why is everyone acting like they killed someone?????

Everyone is so negative, but this release had actually the least amount of bugs in a Ubisoft release ever.
