It’s hard to keep this state of mind when you’re working in an organisation that is known for winning awards and everything and every piece of work is seen as potential to win a Loerie, BookMark or a D&AD. Also our industry seems to gravitate more towards people who’ve won awards. 🤷🏾♂️

So real. I stopped going after awards because it was affecting how people saw me too. They saw me as a success story and started to have high expectations that time I am still growing and nowhere near the kind of deals I want to secure. Awards don’t mean success, impact etc

But do you remember how epic the loeries awards weekends used to be ?! 😂 I wanted to win one but I was not even in advertising, but you’re correct unfortunately that wisdom comes with the experience we needed to have to be a panellist and once you finally reached that place you don’t care for it as much.
