Such a thought provoking post, I saw the 1st slide and thought, “this is already wrong, you can’t say ‘imhlaba’ and ‘yomkhathi’ and refer to Earth and planets in the Milky Way, because uMhlaba loosely translates to Earth, and uMhlaba insusa yegama elithi umhlabathi referring to the ground and everything that grows in it.. therefore uMhlaba should only refer to one planet, Earth, and should not be a term used to blanket and name all planets.’ And then I thought, isn’t it also weird that we named the whole planet ngoMhlaba when majority of it is water, couldn’t we have come up with a more fluid/liquid term to reflect what the planet is majorly made of…? But I digress, when I moved along the slides, carrying along my thinking, I deduced, what if we call ‘uMhlaba’ umhlaba because each and every planet has its own elements that make the planet up and what ever element that is would be referred to as umhlaba. Angazi noma niyangizwa na😅
