This is my exact story, but I am alive, along with my son and my 3 girls, because my son and I subdued him when he was shooting at me. By the grace of God, no one was hurt, but that night could have been crucial he could have killed me and my 4 children, but God had other plans for us. And what did the State of Washington do? They only gave him 3 years and 8 months in prison. That is bullshit considering the trauma my children and I lived through, and I am still in psychological treatment, as is one of my daughters! His damn friends helped him and covered for him, and after 5 months he was found and arrested in the State of Idaho. Amy Babcock at DVRC knows my story. Only those of us who are domestic violence survivors understand how difficult it is to be around these kinds of people with mental health issues, addictions, etc.! This news brings back all the bad memories from that night! I feel so much sadness for this tragedy, and I am so sorry for the families. It is not fair that lives are lost at the hands of abusers, and justice needs to put more support in place for women facing domestic violence and harsher punishments for abusers! My prayers are for the lives lost!
