You are literally my best friend, but you just don’t know yet. We are at the same in so many ways. Keep going girl! You’ve always got a friend in Orange County. ♥️

Ashley, when I was a Senior, top student, leader, multiple accolades...I had little to no support. As the Color Guard Captain, being recognized on Senior night, every single Senior were met on the field by their parents when their name was announced. When my name, title, and accolades were announced- neither of my parents walked onto that field. They didn't even show up to the game. I was humiliated and heartbroken in front of our "entire" small town and visitors, and of course my peers. I made dang sure to show up and put in the effort for my kids (and their friends). I lost my husband when my kids were 7 and 9. God laid it on my heart to start this stationery business. It allowed a modest lifestyle and a flexible schedule. 15 years later, I STILL show up for them! They are very successful young adults and I thank God for my humiliation, it's made me the best Mom to them. Keep showing up! ❤️Robin

I think ppl are confusing high effort with the bare minimum bc I am most definitely a very high effort mom, but imo, making them breakfast every morning and packing their lunches every day is the bare minimum!! why are ppl acting like that's above and beyond??!! omg. I love being all up in their lives, their schools, their extracurriculars, all of it!! I've been the goalie, the ref, I've coached all of their soccer teams, I'm at every game and meet, every field trip and PTO event, I'm teaching all 3 cursive, we have journals we work in together, they get special cards that I make every year in their pile of Christmas presents and it's for a free date with mom, whatever you want, whenever you want!!" and when i tell you, they were more excited about that than when I got them the ps5 for Christmas 😭🤣 that felt like a huge WIN!! my kids and i are fully enveloped in each other's lives and we are thriving!!! and I'm the same with the load bearing for them!!! yes I'm going to put the towel and the jammies in the dryer while youre in the shower, yes I'm going to carry their backpacks to and from on our walks to school every day. I love being a mom, I was meant to do this, and I will NEVER understand moms who don't do for their kids!!

my wife and i live with her mom and stepdad. we sit down to dinner together at 6:30 every night we're home, like 4 nights a week. we take turns cooking and cleaning. even at 30, dinner together is the stability and care that helps me thrive. even when it's takeout or leftovers, we sit down together for dinner and talk!

Absolutely agree! I feel as a mother it’s our job to take as much stress away from “growing up” as we possibly can and making the most of their childhood. My children were multi-sport athletes and I never missed a thing they did. They are both grown now, 20 & 23 with one in grad school and guess what, I STILL show up and support everything they do! Just moved my 23 year old daughter back to college and she gave me the reigns on decorating, an what an honor to take that stress off of her!

I think people often confuse “helicopter” parenting with present parenting. My husband and I are there to support her and her friends. Whether that’s time or attention or money. Period.

I “mom” just like you and our financial situation is not the same but oddly enough I’ve never focused on how much money you were spending, I just realized what you were doing as a mom for your babies and just got it.

Do your girls ever get tired of you doing it all? You know teenage moodiness? I love to do all the things and be up in everything but sometimes they just want to do things themselves and don't want my involvement. Sometimes it just depends on their mood at the moment. When they push me aside my feelings get hurt but I try to understand they just want to be independent but then when they come back wanting me involved I'm like see... they are 16 and 20

I think they are your children and you should be able to be involved in their lives without criticism.

I’m so early! I’m a OU baseball mom, and a Fire Department mom and I will be high effort mom their entire life. I don’t have endless funds, but I show up… they know when they look in the stands or audience I will be there! I love all the things you do❤️

I love how high effort you are, I do always wonder why you don’t talk much about Caroline though. Like the other day when you were explaining the Christmas trees and that you were still going to put them in the girls room when the one that is in college but you didn’t mention Caroline’s old room. I love listening to you and love how involved you so this is just genuine not mean in any manner

My friend and I were talking about this. We feel like people think it’s like a flex to be a low effort mom when it really isn’t. They always default to the oh my kids would kill me if I did all of that. Uhh no they wouldn’t.

You ain’t wrong, Ma. My goal is to have financial freedom for my family and the generations to follow. Financial freedom will allow me freedom to physically be there for everything without the fear of falling behind financially. I want to live a life where I never have to choose my income over my family. It’s not if financial burdens come. It’s when. I am using our younger years to work my @$$ off so later I don’t have to.

My mom was a high effort mom and I learned from her. I showed up for my kids and now I’m a high effort MiMi. 🥰

Was this instilled in you while you were growing up? Or was it just your viewpoint of what you wanted to be like as a mom? Was your mom like this?

I absolutely love you! I’m a mom of 2 boys, 24 & 26. My 24 year old still lives at home, I make homemade dinners daily and I’m up at 6 am to make his lunch and pack it for him for work. My older son lives 2 hrs away with his fiancé and I call him every night at 10 pm to see how his day was and to say goodnight. I was at every school event, sporting events. I’m the mom they call for a ride home at 2 in the morning because they know I’ll answer my phone on the first ring. So much you say you do, I have done and still do for my boys. I couldn’t imagine not being a “high effort mom”. I love my boys more than life itself and I will always do for them as long as I’m here. Thank you for sharing how much you love your daughters and how much joy you take into doing for them and being there for them 💕

I completely relate! I always worked and still work. But somehow I always managed to drop my kids off and pick them up from school. I always wanted to be the last face/voice when they went into school and be the first face/voice they had after school!! This is the best time with your children. You learn so much about what’s going on with your children. Including dinner table time! ❤️
