The problem is you can’t even rely on the Energy companies to do the updating that they claim they are doing. New Orleans customers had a rate increase to pay for a power plant that would run even if everything else was destroyed (like in the event of a Hurricane). Hurricane Ida determined that was a lie. It in fact could not run the way they told us. It was useless, and it took 10 days to restore power.

Its an absolute travesty that Data Centers have not been required to invest in, update, and expand our grid capacity. Like they need our land... so they should absolutely leave it better than they found it

Thank you. Politics is really important to me but I have severe OCD plus grew up with a dad that was a doomsday prepper (that I no longer talk to), so the fear mongering can really mess with my head even when I know nothing is ever truly doomed.
