“No matter how ugly you feel, or how strange you think you look, you are beautiful.” That’s a message I wish more people actually listened to. Oliver Tree never seemed interested in being the “normal” version of an artist. He was weird on purpose. He dressed differently, acted differently, made completely unpredictable music videos, and never seemed afraid of people judging him for it. And I think that’s why so many people found something in him. Because a lot of us know what it feels like to look around and think, “Why can’t I just be normal?” Maybe you’re quiet. Maybe you’re awkward. Maybe you dress differently. Maybe you have interests that nobody around you understands. Maybe you just don't feel like you fit in. That doesn't mean there’s something wrong with you. You shouldn't have to completely change yourself just to make other people comfortable. Oliver turned being different into part of his identity. Instead of hiding it, he made it part of his art. That’s something I’ll always respect about him. His music wasn't just about having catchy songs. It gave people somewhere to feel comfortable being themselves.
