legend has it that the JoSakwa who left after a disagreement with the Wanga King left with the golden Royal bracelet known as the "mkasa". Apparently that Mkasa has been in the Odinga's family all these years and it's the reason why the Wanga Kingdom was diminishing as the Odinga's rose.That bracelet had been handed down in history from Nabongo Wanga and had followed the royal lineage for close to 500 years.

I come from The lineage of Nabongo Mumia. His remains were moved from Mumias town to Matungu at a place Called Eshiembekho. It is a tourist site there now. And by the way, Raila Odinga comes from this lineage too. He has said this many times and it is true because the Sakwas migrated from Matungu. Sakwa was a brother to Nabongo who moved to luoland because they had a disagreement. And that is how the people of Sakwa in luoland came to be assimilated in luo culture.

Most of the Luhya subtribes have origins from the Bunyoro kitara Empire which reach Naivasha in modern day Kenya, Northern Tanzania, parts of Eatern Congo and lower parts of Uganda. The founding father of the Luhya subtribes like the Banyore people of western Kenya was a prince from tge Tooro Kingdom called Omwa. Omwa sired Anyole. Most luhya subtribe founders were Princes running away from the power sttruggles.This is why when many settled uin modern day western kenya, could not establish kingdoms as they were all equals and reffered to each others as Omwami ( lords).
