I’m going to give some input on this not sure on the hardness of the valve seats but the replacement valve will basically handle the heat and stresses in the block where it is 1940s engine and also needed lead additive to maintain good stability I think that it should have updated valve seats too

not an onan that you can't buy parts for. I'm shocked 😂 yes I know it's quite old but the frustrating part is the ones that are only a couple years old and valve aren't available anymore.

A boat I worked on had their original generators from the 1940s, when they had to finally replace the flywheel due to some teeth getting broken off it had to be custom machined, super expensive but great that they were able to keep the generators around
