@theosvoice2: I used to think about “autism” and think about everything Theo might never do. Now I look at him and wonder how much more he can do when we understand what his body and brain are asking for. The diagnosis didn’t change. My perspective did. I stopped accepting every struggle as “just autism” and started asking more questions. I started learning about his gut, nutrition, deficiencies, inflammation, sleep and the things that can make an already overwhelmed nervous system struggle even more. Not everything can be fixed. Not everything NEEDS to be fixed. But if something is making my guy feel worse, I want to know about it. I can’t predict Theo’s future, but I don’t spend nearly as much time being afraid of it anymore..
