She knows you love her, she really does but you are not the guy she wants and that's what makes it so painful because there's no misunderstanding, no confusion, no missing piece of information. She saw your loyalty, she saw the efforts, she saw the way you would have moved mountains just to see her smile and she still looked past you. Do you know what that feels like, to be seen and still not be chosen. To be appreciated and still not be wanted because if she hated you, at least there would have been a reason. Wondering what the other guy had, wondering why your love was never enough. Wondering why the person who means everything to you could walk away so easily and the answer is one that nobody wants to hear. Sometimes someone can see all the good in you and still wish you were somebody else. That's the kind of pain that changes a person, not because you lost her but because you lost the belief that being genuine is enough. After that, you stop chasing, you grow cold and your belief in originality dies away.
