The audience can be heard audibly gasping, many learning of her death for the first time. Karla Tracey, who plays Doralee, the role Dolly herself made famous in the 1980 film, dedicated the show to her. "9 to 5 was originally written and produced by Dolly, whose extraordinary talent, creativity and spirit are woven into every part of this work," she told the crowd.
