@dr.matthew.parker: I actually agree with RFK Jr. about something: we probably do overprescribe psychiatric medications. We should absolutely be talking about deprescribing, polypharmacy, withdrawal, informed consent, and whether patients still need medications they’ve been taking for years. But there’s a HUGE difference between saying “we should prescribe more thoughtfully” and saying “SSRIs are causing school shootings.” One is a legitimate conversation supported by evidence. The other requires evidence that simply isn't there. We can criticize psychiatric prescribing without creating misinformation about psychiatric medications. And as a psychiatrist, that's the conversation I want to have. #MentalHealth #psychiatry #MentalHealthAwareness #depression #rfk
Reddington tried to say it too. And yet ppl think he’s amazing lol

Dr Woods Psychiatry :
We don’t overprescribe. Other areas of medicine who are less trained then us do.

I love your content! I actually found your page while searching for videos about Hahnemann. Worked there from 2013 until the doors closed and I miss it dearly. Anyway, as an RN with anxiety who takes Luvox daily, I appreciate you taking the time to educate everyone on this app.

Sadly seems to be a theme- basic positive sentiments mixed with bad faith and data-free arguments after that

Sadly and I too can’t believe I’m saying this but I agree. Especially since a lot of physicians don’t do as much as bloodwork before prescribing. I do hope this doesn’t create more unnecessary stigma or people not going for treatment.
