What I learned from Matlala as a businessperson is the importance of separating business finances and having a clear financial structure. When he explained that they opened a neutral company and put money in the bank specifically for that business, it showed me the importance of pooling funds and using them strictly for business purposes. If they secured a contract, each person would then be paid according to the agreed arrangement. In their case, he and Maumela would each receive 10% of the profits generated from the supplier deals. That part of his testimony was actually a valuable business lesson. (I am not saying he was telling the truth though)
