A fire broke out around 6:45 AM on the third floor of the MCH ward at PIMS Hospital, reportedly triggered by an AC compressor explosion. ​The blaze claimed the lives of 14 newborn infants in the nursery, while 1 baby was successfully rescued. ​Our hearts are shattered, but we must demand answers to two painful questions: why was broken equipment left unchecked, How could basic maintenance be so recklessly ignored until a fire sparked?
