@bri.n.far: Apparently my daughter’s commitment to the barefoot lifestyle was strong enough to inspire ✨policy change✨ 😭😂 Toddler moms PLEASE drop your most escape proof shoes because I cannot call into work over a footwear violation. #toddlermom #motherhood #workingmom #relatablemom #daycare

Oh my gosh. I can’t believe there are teachers in here agreeing with that decision. Two year olds are still little, let them be little. I own a school and we allow little ones to be little ones. This is weird

As someone who works in a daycare, I wish we had this rule. 😭😭😭 It’s a STATE thing people. They have to have shoes on.

Unfortunately I agree with the daycare, as a previous ece of 8 years. It’s a licensing requirement.

As a 2’s teacher it is a state law! I teach my kids shoes on socks on all day I like new balances n high tops that zip in the back if possible not side. Also you have conversations at home, u make a big show about your shoes are on.

Make her wear shoes all day besides sleep time. Toddlers get confused why they have to keep there shoes on at daycare but not home. Its gonna be hard but itll be worth it. Also theres shoes out there that feel like socks to the child, for kids who have sensory issues w/ shoes.

The other parents don’t seem to have a problem with their children keeping their shoes on. Perfect time to start teaching her she has to follow rules, and the consequences when she doesn’t.

Now, imagine your boss had a rule and you couldn't follow it... You would get fired from your job or sent home 👀

it’s a licensing rule and fire code. we once had a surprise fire inspection and the school got fined because a child took their shoes off

Yall sensory issues are REAL!!!! Maybe the shoes are painful, or uncomfortable. And before ppl start screaming about well that’s not how life works, I’m very sorry that you were taught to suppress your needs for the comfort of others. Behavior is communication!!!

High tops, double knotted, and laces/knot tucked into the shoe if you can. Unfortunately it’s a huge safety concern if shoes aren’t kept on :/

It’s not a policy that the center owner, director, or teachers made up—or even one that we particularly like. 😅 In the event of a fire or emergency, all children must have appropriate footwear so they can safely follow the designated evacuation route without needing to be carried or held. These rules are in place for one reason: our children’s safety. ❤️

Please, no it’s not them. It’s their licensing agency. It’s a rule for a fire hazard and you can’t put six toddler shoes on at one time to evacuate if there’s an emergency.

That’s actually a pretty common rule for preschools. It’s a safety protocol. If the child walks they have to wear shoes.

Amy Fleck (Taylor’s Version) :
Many states have laws in daycare that children must wear footwear all day, including at nap time. Licensing can (and often will) file a violation if they come in and a child over age 1 isn’t wearing shoes. It’s not personal beef with your kid, teachers just can’t keep chasing the same kid nonstop about shoes. Get high tops. They’re harder to take off v

I love this policy.one and two year olds are very capable of following directions. When you have to evacuate 12-15 toddlers for a fire drill or an actual emergency they must be wearing shoes. It’s a state regulation.
