@foxanne.official: this morning on my birthday, my mom sent me this video of my grandma playing me happy birthday on the piano many many years ago and I love it so much I thought I’d share this little piece with you all This was her in her later years and she still sounds fantastic, but believe me when I tell you that she was incredible. She learned to play in the orphanage growing up, and though she didn’t read much music she could play literally anything by ear “with all the extra notes,” as my mom says. I hope to one day play the piano half as good as she did, maybe that’s what I’ll do in this next year of my life
