It’s questionable for sure. But I kind of see Ancient Egyptian Mythology the same as Greek Mythology or Norse Mythology. It’s not ingrained in the every day culture of the modern people the same way as it is in other cultures and it’s so far in the past it’s more of a world mythology. Wearing a costume from ancient mythology isn’t as egregious as say wearing traditional clothing as a Halloween costume. Geishas are still running around in Japan. People still wear Qipao. Indigenous Americans still have their ceremonial clothing. Still weird that only the white people got skins though.
