Happy Monday besties ♿️💕 I can’t believe we’re at episode 25!! This one is SO good too, because it’s one of those exercises that looks simple but is doing soooo much for your body and your everyday life🙌🏼 So why am I picking up and putting down a kettlebell from the floor over and over again?? Because I’m not training for the kettlebell…I’m training for real life! And real life doesn’t hand us perfectly balanced, easy to grab objects, I mean I wish it did, but that’s a pisces dream world lol I’ve done this one before with a dumbbell but THIS time I’m using a kettlebell because the offset handle and awkward shape force your body to work so much harder to stabilize. They challenge your grip, your shoulder stability, and your trunk control all at once because you’re moving an awkward load outside your base of support. And THAT is the kind of strength you actually need when you drop something off the side of your chair, reach down to grab your bag, or pick up literally anything from the floor💪🏼 This exercise is a 1 arm Kettlebell side pick up where I’m grabbing the kettlebell from the floor, passing it to my other hand, lowering it back down, tapping the floor, passing it back, and repeating. It fires up your grip, your lats, your core stability, and your ability to control your trunk while you’re reaching outside your base of support. It also allowed you to get comfortable picking things up off of the floor in a controlled manner!🔥 Grip + pulling strength + trunk control = making everyday tasks easier and keeping you more independent in your chair. And THAT is why we train for real life y’all!! Save this & share it with someone who needs to see this ♿️💕 #wheelchairfitness #adaptivefitness #wheelchairlife #spinalcordinjury #disabilityawareness
