i think two things can be true, she was failed by many professionals but also people are taking it wayyyyyy too far with these conspiracies. there’s reasonable doubt and then there’s sensationalizing the details of this woman’s life to be the most salacious version possible.

Something this case has made me realise is that a large section of society is deeply uninformed about the seriousness of psychosis and the functional capacity of a person in psychosis to stop themselves. Not making any definitive statements about this case.

I don’t think your video was wrong, there’s people doing reenactments with bratz dolls. It has gotten out of hand. Three children died. She’s left paralyzed and her family traumatized. This is serious. I hope the trail rules in her favor and she gets the resources and care that she needs.

I really agree. I wish true crime would be abolished as a whole. Recently watched the Idaho 4 documentary on Netflix and though I did find some things interesting to learn - finding out that there was so much conspiracy around this case that deeply impacted the survivors was really heart wrenching. People can be cruel and we have to be more sensitive about these things.

even if you take the mental health aspect out of it i find an issue with the prosecution proving without a shadow of a doubt that she is guilty of criminal intent when majority of the "evidence" and "confession" is based on hearsay and the police investigation was so lacking

Hey I just re watched your video and I really do not think it was heavy handed at all. It was very balanced and nuanced to me and honestly the way people and especially white women have been about the trial has been truly unsettling.

Failed at multiple points? Despite being hospitalized at a Harvard psych unit (McLean)? Or having the access to be able to see a psychiatrist 14 times in 2 months? Despite not taking medications as prescribed? Or having direct access to her providers through virtual messages and receiving swift, detailed responses? She had an unbelievable amount of support from mental health providers that most post partum women could not fathom to have. I hate the way psychiatry is being portrayed because this was not a case of her not receiving treatment, care and attention. The general public has no idea the way the healthcare system works and making sweeping claims about things they don’t know.

I full heartedly believe in the legal system nuance and the rhetoric of “innocent until proven guilty”. It has taken me a long time to remove my personal bias and emotions. Is it horrible that the children were murdered? Absolutely. Do I want justice for them? Yes! Have I been shown evidence without reasonable doubt during the trial from the commonwealth? No.

Your video was very nuanced so I am confused at what they're mad about. I am going to be frank we also have to factor in that this verdict also happened because this is a white woman if this was a black woman would she be given the same grace, would her mental health be taken into consideration that woman would be under the jail there is a lot of stuff that fell through in this case.

im not saying she didnt do it bc i think she did but i also think calling ppl conspiracy theorists for having doubts about it is odd bc the polices investigation was very shitty 😭 if u think about it they actually presented 0 physical evidence, the only thing they have is her confession and the fact that she was at the house, which is circumstantial.

apparently in other countries they recognize this as a serious issue and have mental health procedures to stop this from happening without taling the woman's children from her. and They dont publically shame her for reaching out for help.

I was attacked by someone in psychosis. He attacked two other people, before and after, leaving the first one in critical condition and the one after lost her life. Didn’t know the guy, neither did the other two. Anyway, what I learned from that experience is that 1) psychosis is so misunderstood and a lot can happen while someone is in that state, they can be very calm and methodical and there can be some element of planning, and 2) so many people who commit violence while in psychosis are found guilty because they have public defenders and limited resources, so I think a lot of people have too high a bar for not guilty by reason of insanity. If all things were equal, I have zero doubt we’d see SO MANY MORE people be found not guilty by reason of insanity. BUT you’re right, true crime sucks and is a stain upon our society. 🙃
