@jessekfg: Replying to @troger49 get the data. look for trends. bring that to your oncologist and then tell them your feeling, but have the evidence to back it up! we have to be the most educated people in the room with our own situation. I know it's going to take work, but this is your life and it matters so you're going to do it! #kfg #cancer #chemo #cancersucks #cancerfighter

It's hard when your insurance tries too battle you over everything saying what is and is not medically necessary

I never had a PET Scan, but I only had one cancerous polyp in my rectum. We had to change my plan drastically when I had the allergic reaction to Oxalplatin. We let me recover from the reaction, then proceeded with chemo + radiation. I took chemo pills. It seems to have worked out okay. I hope you keep seeing good results. I know you're the most "together" person I know with cancer, so I pay attention. I had the hardest time with the anxiety before screenings every 6 months.

My insurance won’t cover an MRI or CT but they’ll cover a PET scan. 😡

Any advice on forcing the hand of your oncologist? For example, I want a PET scan but my oncologist doesn’t see a need. It’s frustrating. Also, ChatGPT can now directly link up with MyChart. Once linked, you go into ChatGPT and type @health and then ask your question. It’s amazing how it can instantly break down all the data

My Dr won’t do another PET scan, I’m 2 1/2 years in @every three weeks, mri and ct every three months are coming back good. No growth, not spreading not always shrinking. He’s saying a PET scan won’t help him. I’m stage 4 Adenocarcinoma

Such great info. Did you ever have a treatment not work and get progression before starting a new chemo?

You are amazing to be an advocate of what to do and how to document and track if you get cancer. I am learning so much!

I just love you and you know for me what would really help is if you made a list of what type of bloodwork we should be watching cause I can’t remember what you say. I can’t remember what they said. I need it written down.🫶

Absolutely true. Over 100 treatments over 5 years. Also there are times when your body needs a break. After reviewers, it may be okay to take a break.

Thank you! I just added a treatment color coded system to my spreadsheet because of this advice. Now I can connect the changes to the treatments.

Have you been on FOLFIRI before? I had 12 rounds of FOLFOX 2 years ago and now I'm on my 8th round of FOLFIRI. my side effects are worse but I'm still very functional and still working 2 jobs. my pet scan and signatera were negative after 6 treatments, but they want to keep me in this for a while. My liver enzymes are more stable on FOLFIRI than they were in FOLFOX

You are being treated for cancer. You don't wanna be killed by the chemo before that happens.
