To be honest, I won’t be mad at all because they are already in debts and wedding can be costly. In fact , I will gather other friends and family members and throw them a surprise wedding party to celebrate their union 🤷🏾♀️

I’d do this but I’d tell my close friends and family and make it very clear we are not having a wedding or engagement party. No need for the fuss, weddings are unnecessarily expensive

i think people forget that at life is also about community (showing up for others and having others show up for you). That being said i do understand eloping and all that but in the same breath you could have also had a cheap celebration with 10 to 15 of your closest friends and family 🤷🏾♀️

I honestly thing they made a very smart decision which makes their future more peaceful and stress free. I understand why people would be hurt but at the end of the day they’re the ones that are going to have to deal with the financial stress. If your family and friends are ok with seeing you in. Financial stress just so they can be present for a one day event honestly idk what to say. Unless everyone wants to contribute to the wedding then sure they can come to it

Nta. My sibling got married without saying anything to anyone. I was very happy for them but very upset I didn’t get to be there with them on such a big day. However, when they came back, we all went out to celebrate their wedding. It’s about the husband and wife so who cares about what others think

My husband and I didn't have a ceremony. The planning was stressful and the cost didn't make sense to us. we did a family dinner and brunch so our families could meet. We can plan a big party later 🤷♀️
