Yes!!! I loved my (then current) job but had an interesting internal opportunity pop up. I went in just curious, detached from the outcome and guess what? It was a great opportunity and I started last week with a decent raise + fully remote.

what if you live in a city where basically everyone knows each other? I live in a city with 160k people somehow everyone knows each other in the industry. when I interviewed for my current job I got a message from a coworker "so and so saw you at X" (not malicious but im like damn i cant go anywhere. didn't even know my name just said to my coworkers "some girl from your office came to interview" and he figured it out)

I have noting to do with the science part of my company but tell me why my new work bff is the PA to the Chief Science Officer? Also, all the receptionist love me because I always take the time to talk to them and not just when I need stuff. And they are also awesome people - the benefit of being friends with them is just extra

executive assistants are THE best friends you can make in corporate. befriended the CEO assistant when i was an intern and when i told her my manager wasn’t hiring me home girl was talking to him AND the CEO about why they should keep me (bonus part i didn’t even ask her to do it)
