jen <3 :
the plot is about people protecting the city they live in during political tensions after a recent war and then a brutal civil war. Except it also involves "ability users" which are characters based on irl authors who have powers and personalities based on the books. the world of bsd itself os created by the book which can create an alternate timeline of whatever you write in it but by destroying the current world in the process (classic timeline stuff) and the characters have lots of trauma precisely because of the political tensions causing huge actors to make difficult or extreme decisions like fyodor wanting to get rid of all ability users or child experimentation to create gifted weapons or gifted participating in bloodshed or criminal organisations or lots of children being orphaned and then abused in orphanages and even potential experimentation on the orphans too. people stepping in to take leadership roles to protect the fragile peace they have cause no one else can. children being brought up in violence because thats how they can survive. People making connections and stubbornly pursuing their goals. spies working for the government. people betraying themselves. everyone trying to do what they think is right. people at odds working together fight a larger threat. people learning what it means to be human and live in a world like this.

Basically it’s about a boy who was recently kicked out of an orphanage who can turn into a tiger and joins an agency that’s full of skilled members that take on cases the police cannot handle. Along with that there are several other groups such as the Port Mafia. But as the story progresses the story moves on from local detective cases to international and political threats that threaten the race of gifted and Yokohama for a book that can alter reality. Literally it’s not just about detectives it’s never been about just detectives, it just starts that way. Oh yeah and everyone is named and based after real life others and/or books from said authors so yeah.
