Toyota blew it with the 4 cylinders and turbos. Sorry nothing will make them reliable compared to natural v6. Also the new tundra is a mess!

I bought mine because of reliability. I’ve owned 3 hybrids over the last 20 years. They run forever. Also Toyota has been testing Electric since the RAV4 EV in the 90’s.

Solid state batteries will change EVERYTHING. When EVs have 500-600+ miles of range, and be cheap, they will crush gas cars. They are already superior to drive.

The problem being that the big automakers were not innovative enough (or not considerate enough?) to put time and effort into developing a low cost EV. They wanted to focus on making the big bucks on Pickups and SUVs

they underestimated the electric cars push as you can see their first ev was a flop, now they reenter a little too late and too less effort. now in Canada the model y and model 3 are 39,000

Toyota Quality has gone down. I thought I’d never say that. My son’s Highlander was recently totaled because of Mold damage. Water leaking in the doors and into the back unbeknownst to my son. It’s also occurred in my other son’s Highlander. He also had an engine gasket replaced under 80k miles which was a 6,000 repair due to the location (it’s a hybrid). My 2025 Tundra has the front wheel guards falling off. They are held on by TAPE???? The outside temperature caused the heat to tape glue to come off. I have pictures and videos of all of this. When I asked Toyota to give me the Platinum Warranty for a RAV4 to replace my totaled vehicle, they declined. I guess I’m going to try another OEM.

The floor in the new es is very high due to the batter pack under, this makes the vehicle a little more uncomfortable. The hybrid which does not need it inherited it.
