![[Princess Aiko Visits Musashino Imperial Mausoleum Alone] Princess Aiko, the eldest daughter of the Emperor and Empress, visited the Musashino Imperial Mausoleum in Hachioji, Tokyo. Due to traffic congestion caused by an accident on the expressway, she arrived at the mausoleum—where Emperor Showa is interred—around 11:30 a.m. on the 25th, about an hour and a half behind schedule. She visited to report her graduation from Gakushuin University and her employment at the Japanese Red Cross Society; she offered a *tamagushi* (sacred tree branch) and paid her respects. This was Princess Aiko's first visit to the Musashino Imperial Mausoleum since she accompanied the Emperor and Empress there ten years ago. Afterwards, she also visited the Musashino-higashi Mausoleum, where Empress Kojun (the consort of Emperor Showa) is interred.
