if memory serves, the only reason jakes work on the road is because the engine is being driven by the momentum of the truck through the axles and transmission ...he's not moving so it makes sense that it stalls out

N14 Cummins Jake’s will stick on if oil temp is not up. Strong enough to shut the truck off easily.

International could NEVER keep the Jake switch in a single place. My ‘07 9900 has the Jake’s where your wiper switch is 🤣

The amount of times I’ve forgot to turn the Jake’s off coming to a light and stalled it 😭 Luckily for most of us the Jake’s are automatic now and don’t allow the motor to stall. Mainly an older truck thing to allow motor to stall.

Many mechanical engines don’t kick the Jake’s off when it gets down to idle like modern engines. This is quite common. Big Cams and B models are prime examples
