Here’s how I DEEP CLEAN our laundry without all the extra toxins! *NOTE: I make my own laundry detergent, but I’ll make a tutorial for that some other time. 😉 I have an old repurposed tote I use for soaking the ‘EXTRA DIRTY” clothes. In this case, after I put the bras in the tote, I fill the tote with water. (I personally believe hot water lifts sweat stains quicker and I don’t have to worry about these bras shrinking) I add baking soda and vinegar and give it a good thorough mix. Then, I add Castile soap and lavender essential oil just for a fresh smell with a deeper cleanse. I massage those ingredients in as well. I let the laundry set for about 30 minutes but you can let your items soak as long as you prefer. I give the laundry another deep massage, really working the cleaning ingredients throughout the material. In this video you can see just how dirty these few sports bras were. 🤢 After draining the water, I take the laundry to the washer. There I add my homemade detergent to the laundry, and then I feel the detergent slot with vinegar and essential oils. (For our laundry this distributes best without leaving oil spots staining our clothing and we have no detergent residue in the detergent slot) Lastly, I get the laundry out of the washer, add some essential oils (for fragrance) to the wool ball, and toss it all in the dryer. That’s it! There are a few extra budget friendly steps to take but it’s well worth it for the safe cleanliness of the under garments! 😉 Disclaimer: I’m not recommending you try something you aren’t comfortable with or that you should add certain cleaning ingredients to certain parts of your washer.
