You're reading more into these verses than they actually say. Song of Solomon 1:5 absolutely says the woman was dark/black—but verse 6 literally continues, “because the sun hath looked upon me,” explaining why her complexion had darkened. One dark woman doesn't establish the race of every Israelite. 😂 Acts 13:1 doesn't prove it either. Simeon was called Niger, a Latin word meaning black/dark, so he may indeed have been a dark-skinned man. And Lucius came from Cyrene in North Africa. Great—Christianity had Black/African followers. Nobody needs to erase them. But how did you jump from “there were dark-skinned people among early Christians” to “therefore all Israelites and Jesus were Black”? Saul is standing in the same verse, and Saul explicitly calls himself an Israelite from the tribe of Benjamin (Romans 11:1). Acts gives us no skin-color description for him. And here's the question that destroys the methodology: if the Bible calling one man “Niger” proves everybody around him was Black, why did he need the distinguishing nickname “Niger” in the first place? 😂 The Bible had no problem describing complexion when it mattered—Song of Solomon describes someone as dark, Jeremiah 13:23 mentions the distinctive skin of a Cushite, and Acts preserves the nickname Niger. Yet nowhere does it say “Jesus was Black,” “all Israelites were Black,” or “Jews were Black.” There absolutely were dark-skinned and African people throughout biblical history. Acknowledging them is history. Turning every biblical people into one modern racial group is not.
