It’s obvious they wish to control all media .. we focus on the French because it creates a full stop argument. Whereas the English side of things can be waffled around so they can control it with loopholes - the fact they went after the French was a dumb move because they didn’t seem to realize we would immediately say no - no matter what the argument.

Mind you, streamers already pay back an amount of money for France to produce its own films and tv shows. It is equivalent to the money that used to be generated by DVD sales. So American streamers are taking offense with Canada but following similar rules in other countries

I’m convinced Trump targeted the French Language because he honestly thought English speaking Canadians would love it. He wasn’t expecting us to lose our minds over even the suggestion of it. He thinks we view French the way Americans view Spanish. He has no understanding of how integral French is to our culture!

they wanted our sovereignty, basically being a state with being a state, no food inspection, they have first rights to minerals and cap on what they pay, no trading, if we trade have to ask, sanctions and tariffs on countries they have them on, still 50% tariffs on heavy trucks so that would be Oakville plant, oh fk lots more interested can't type all out

We as a negotiating team did the right thing walking away because this would never stop. They also want to align our food manufacturing guidelines with theirs they would continue to erode our autonomous decision-making as a country on every aspect of Canadian values.
