I once dated a woman for las vegas almost three months. Everything seemed fine until I posted her, and someone from Nigeria commented, “When are you paying my mom’s bride price?” I laughed and replied, “No worry, I’m working on it.” At the time, I genuinely thought the relationship was going somewhere. Later, she blocked me. I even contacted the guy who made the comment and told him, “Your mom has blocked me.” His response was, “I think she was never serious.” That experience taught me something: sometimes, people enter relationships without truly knowing what they want. Some are looking for something serious, while others are simply passing time or figuring themselves out. I never asked that woman for money not even once. I still bought her gifts because I cared about her and believed in what we had. But sometimes, no matter how genuine your intentions are, the other person may not value the relationship the same way. So I’ve learned not to force love. I’d rather have someone who genuinely chooses me, respects me, and is serious about building something real than someone who only stays around when it is convenient.
