@cjnlegalnurse: 8/26/26 The NCLEX registration fee is increasing from $200 to $350 in the U.S. beginning February 1, 2027, a 75% increase. NCSBN says this is the first registration-fee adjustment since 2000 and cites inflation and increased costs associated with examination development, cybersecurity and data protection. The bigger workforce question is what another mandatory expense means for nursing graduates already paying the costs associated with getting licensed, particularly candidates who need to retest. One important detail: candidates who complete NCLEX registration before February 1, 2027, will pay the current fee even if they test after that date. 📩 For more healthcare news and analysis beyond the headline, subscribe to The CJN Brief free at https://www.sunincorp.net/cjn-brief. $250 wasn’t a option. New graduate nurse here. Companies barely want to give you a good wage because of being a new graduate and lack of experience

$200 was already too high. The greed in the education system is even worse than the pharmaceutical industry

I honestly get it, everything is going up the NCLEX is a business and all businesses have to spend money and when they do the price increase falls on the consumer.

In Colorado we had to Pay 200 to Dora then the 200 to NCSBN and I had to travel to either Utah or Denver both were about 5 hours away so I had to pay for Hotel and gas so for me it wasn't just 200 dollars.

75% 🧐😱😳… I need to know how they came up with that number AND if this much of an increase is even legal/allowed all at once?!? This is absolutely insane! Do they understand that our fasfa has been cut, tuition has gone up, and we can barely afford the degree as is… why do the live to stress us out so bad 😩

I took my LPN NCLEX 12 years ago and the program I went to built thr cost of the exam x1 as well as the application fee to the state into the last semesters fees. My current RN program doesn't do that though. I believe doing something like that is one way that schools and programs can help ensure that students are able to sit for the exam and get licensed after graduating the program.

I admit I’m in a nursing program & didn’t know the NCLEX fee. $350 feels “cheap” compared to my other certifications (CISA) and yet feels like robbery considering this is mandatory & the others weren’t

Honestly, I understand. I paid $200 when I sat 2 decades ago. That $200 has not changed.
