NCSBN says this is the first registration-fee adjustment since 2000 and cites inflation and increased costs associated with examination development, cybersecurity and data protection. The bigger workforce question is what another mandatory expense means for nursing graduates already paying the costs associated with getting licensed, particularly candidates who need to retest.
