@hopeelishabrooker: A very raw and vulnerable video showing just a small fraction of everything I’ve been through and the journey I’ve been on since my injury took place. The setbacks, the tears, the frustration, the small wins, and all the work it’s taken to slowly build myself back again. ❤️‍🩹 A year ago, I couldn’t stand on the Great North Run start line after breaking my ankle and damaging the ligaments in the other. It was one of the hardest times of my life. I lost so much more than the ability to run: I lost confidence in myself, my independence, and for a while, a part of who I was. But with the love and support of my family and friends, and a lot of days where I had to keep going even when I didn’t feel like I could, I slowly rebuilt my strength, my confidence and my spark. 🩼 Now I’m finally back!! 🥹🏃🏽‍♀️ I’m taking part in the 2026 Great North Run for the Alzheimer’s Society. I’m running for my Grandad, and for everyone affected by dementia. This run means so much more than 13.1 miles. It represents every setback, every tear, every tiny bit of progress, and everything I’ve overcome to find myself again and make it back to that start line. 💙💛 If you’re able to donate, I’d be incredibly grateful.
