Originally I took the Kanye lyrics as blasphemy because he is, on the surface, saying he prefers material wealth over eternal life. But upon closer examination I believe Kanye saw the dream for what it really was: a lie straight from the devil. Kanye understands eternal life in heaven comes from the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and belief in Him. He knows that in reality money will never be able to buy his way into heaven, this is merely a lie spread by the devil. Understanding the gospel Kanye wakes up and decides to spend that money on a necklace because he knows his destiny is sealed within Christ, and not through his material wealth
