Anyone whoever says “pro wrestling is fake” I always point to Mick Foley. He will tell you for a fact that it is 100 percent NOT fake. Yes, the story line and the match are worked out. Yes the wrestlers are not always throwing real punches (refer to Samoa Joe vs Necro Butcher to see real ones thrown) but wrestling is for sure real. The injuries, the bumps, the wear and tear on the body all legit.

If I remember, a few wrestlers have said that the table usually cushions their fall. Some prefer table bumps because they hurt the least. Though with some exceptions like Hardcore Holly

imagine if it was scored or precut, that excess energy has to go somewhere. if a 500lbs of force is going through a gimicked table maybe 10lbs of it breaks the table. that means 490lbs is going into the ground, Newton's 3rd law that wrestler is gonna get hurt.

people think theyre lying and its precut, that would literally make it more dangerous. the table actually lessens the impact, if its cut you wont get as much resistance and just hit the floor. the table needs some body to it to slow the fall

Watch some of the old hardcore matches with terry funk and they had to take bumps on real plywood tables instead of the tables they have now days and it was brutal

Even chair shots are not truly faked. The folding chairs have 1 piece of metal removed so the chair can be folded as flat as can be but other than that it's actual metal to skin and bone

I don't remember the details, but there was a match back in the territory days where they used a gimmicked table that was made easier to break, and that thing started sagging in the middle when the guy was laid out on top of it. Lol. Bro was lying on a U shape before the splash came.
