I got told your useless by mum. She would sayI’m gonna have to pay someone to hire you. Best believe got my first job when I was 15 earlier then anyone else, and since that been hustling. Still no validation till this day lol. Brown kid trauma is something else. But you’re right you gotta change your why and not chase that validation.

You’re constantly seeking external validation because your whole life (speculating) has been your own internal validation but that was never how you sought approval for yourself. That’s why you’re always proving yourself. You relied on mama and baba’s validation because they were supposed to be your original role models growing up and just like most desi households that love was perceived through transactions. Be a good student and you are loved. But you always deserved more than that. It’s not entirely their fault either, since it was the love they grew up on. They should you love in the only way they knew how to - survival. Alhamdulillah for everything.
