DS2 is good in theory but then you play it(on your 15th character that’s closest to being able to play with a specific friend) and get an awful spot, but you go “that’s just ___(area)” before remembering shrine of amana and 10 other terrible locations or harvest valley or frozen loyce etc etc not to mention the bosses. Like the game itself is good, weapons npcs etc, but the creators simply didn’t get dark souls and that caused DS2 to suffer when it came to combat and thereby exploration.

Btw Manus, Father of the Abyss is a bad boss. Too fast and aggressive for DS1's clunk-shit gameplay. Never enjoy fighting him on my playthroughs, never a fun fight. Just annoying.
