@women_helping_women: Nobody really prepares you for this part of grief. When someone you love dies, you don’t just lose the person. You lose the world that existed when they were in it. The way you saw life. The way you made decisions. The way you understood your place in the world. All of it can change. And eventually, you have to learn how to live in a world that no longer includes them physically. That doesn’t mean forgetting them. It doesn’t mean moving on as if they never existed. It means learning how to move forward while carrying their memory with you. Sometimes grief forces us to become someone new. And maybe that’s not something we should be ashamed of. Maybe it’s part of surviving.
