you can’t give without context. This was during war times where when the people left Islam it was to join their enemies not to just leave the religion and continue on, they left in order to fight against Islam directly. This isn’t the same thing as someone leaving today for different reasons, unless said person left in order to directly fight against Islam like during these times.

Lol, not knowing the context and spreading misinformation. It's about if someone is not Muslim he is on enemy side. And this hadith means that. If someone was Muslim and was fighting against non Muslims and after reverting to another religion,Prophet meant that reverts are on ememy side so don't be friends with them and count them like they are your enemies. That's the context man, it's not like te**rism, to kill every non Muslim

punishment for the murtad exist there's no denying it but why aren't u explaining for those that don't understand this hadith , the meaning of a murtad the gravity of leaving the religions and its implications , the madahibs positions on the subject. there's so much we can say about this and showing a hadith without explaining will cause a lot of misunderstanding akhy.
