@jajanengi: Replying to @Rank up This has been sitting in my drafts for a long time because I’m quite shy and not necessarily the best speaker. But these are some retention/memorization tips that helped me throughout school. Pardon the poor editing. To summarize what I said in the video: 1. Hard work: Put in the work. Start reading from the very first day or even before the semester begins. Consistency makes retention much easier. 2. Groom your mind: Train your memory regularly. You can randomly memorize people’s phone numbers, plate numbers, lyrics, etc. For me, I even went as far as memorizing case citations sometimes, just to sharpen my memory. 3. Embody whatever you’re studying: Make what you’re studying an extension of your personality. Make it about you. I mentioned in the video that I used to make law jokes using case laws, and that genuinely helped me retain them. I could barely forget my authorities in the exam hall because I had associated them with things that were already part of me. 4. Find a reading style that suits your brain: I talked about two categories of persons, visual and auditory learners. Some people retain information better when they can visualize a lecture, their notes, diagrams, etc., while others retain more when they hear information being explained. There are several other learning styles and techniques, so experiment and find what works best with your brain’s natural inclinations. To conclude, make sure you find what’s best for you, work at your own pace and in alignment with your peculiarities. #studytok #lawstudent #tips

“Before the semester starts” Thank God I've met my brother in that regard. My followers and especially my colleagues in school tend to think I'm insane whenever I mention that. Good video.
