In my case (a hand), it worked and saved me time lol. Turning Base Color into Shadows 1. Duplicate the base color Click on the object’s base color folder. Right-click → Duplicate Layer. 2. Adjust the folder to make it look like shadows. a. Position & Scale Click on the new folder. Go to Edit → Transform → Mesh Transformation… Move and transform the folder to align the shadows. b. Color Click on the new folder. Change Blending Mode: Normal → Multiply. Create a new layer above the folder. Click ‘Clip to layer below’ (watch the video if you’re unsure). Select the Gradient Tool (G) (or use your preferred brush). Choose a suitable shadow color. Start coloring (watch the video for details). Create a combined folder with the new folder and new layer. Click ‘Clip to layer below’ (the combined folder must be above the object folder where the shadows lay, in my example, the hand’s shadows lay on the character’s clothes). 4. Final Touch Go through each layer and make adjustments if needed. Yeah, I know, I didn’t realize how many steps it needed before creating this tip video.
