this is such a weird take, like god forbid that he tries to connect more with his own community….

Don’t let the negative comments get to you here. You’re not hating. You’re speaking the truth. It’s uncomfortable for some

nothing wrong with it when he first got on he was representing Toronto/Rexdale area heavily because that’s all he knew growing up like many of us immigrants that grew up in the GTA, and being signed by a fellow Toronto artist - now that he’s older it’s okay to revisit his ethnic background like many of us do after growing up in foreign countries

Can you blame him though? Whatever industry you’re in, the goal is to make it higher and higher. You do one approach, it works, cool! Once it stops working, you try a different approach. Stop with criticism, sounds so dumb.

One thing to consider that growing up in western it was hard to publicly embrace your Punjabi side. Personally for me growing up it was hard to show my Punjabi side outside due to all the bullying. But as the Punjabi scene is becoming more acceptable and popular it becoming easy to be yourself and embrace that side. I fear that if Nav had tried to make Punjabi music first he might have not reached this fame. Now that he has that fame there is no risk of embracing and exploring Punjabi music.
