This is why I stopped volunteering with some of the protest groups… because they didn’t understand the “no peace” part and it felt performative. A march/protest was maybe an hour and then everyone just went home after the speakers and the photo ops.

Valid: white people mainly protest for vanity rather than for action, and when the action doesn’t follow the protest, it mainly doesn’t affect us and therefore we walk away with feeling we did something without having to do the heavy lifting that involves change.

That's why electoralism won't save or liberate anyone. While it has a role, people would rather vote as a means of ignoring the harm done by Democrats when elected. They only pay attention to the harm when a Republican is in office.

for me it meant calling, emailing, showing up at city council/county board meetings, volunteering, & being in the streets. unfortunately despite my best efforts my fellow whites keep just... idk complaining on the internet? my ppl are so complacent
