Nv wasn’t that good and it’s riddled with plot holes for example Benny plays absolutely no crucial role in the story no matter what he never would’ve entered the fort to upgrade the securitrons and if he never shot you the game would play exactly the same minus being shot as far as yes man the courier could just take one to Julie farkas the same as Benny

i started with the 4 i just loved it , then i played nv and i get the differences fallout 4 is a great game but nv is a better " fallout" i love both in their different way

While i do share the sentiment that the rpg elements have been striped away from the series it is in no way like call of duty other than the fact it's an fps.
