Well, I have a male gynecologist now and the reason he went into gynecology was because his wife died from ovarian cancer and he want to try to help women not die from ovarian cancer and that’s the whole reason he’s a gynecologist. He’s the only one that believed me when all the women I went to said I was perfectly fine and he found out that I have endometriosis. After 7 years of women only gynecologist I finally went to a man and he was the one to figure everything out. Some of my personal opinion I’m gonna choose a male gynecologist only because I’ve had bad issues with women gynecologists.

It’s entirely normal to be uncomfortable about a male gyno but to everyone in the comments hating on men that are interested in woman’s health (an already extremely under studied and under funded area of medicine??) yall need to get a grip. If you’re uncomfortable you can request a woman and they are obligated to get you a woman instead.

I’ve heard many stories about the horrible women gynos they have had and when they went to a male in the same profession he fixed all the problems they were having that the females dismissed. Not all men are monsters

A male gyno found pre cancer cells on my ex wife’s cervix and caught it early enough to prevent cervical cancer. Good doctors are good doctors.

I just switched from a male gyno. He was amazing when nothing was wrong. His wife ended up being the on call dr for my first and delivered him and he delivered my second. But switched when shit started hitting the fan and he stopped hearing me out and dubbed my problems as “it’s normal”.. turns out I have endometriosis. Regardless of my personal experience. They are professional. And it’s just your personal preference.

To become an OBGYN it takes 12 years of school. I don’t really understand what the issue is when it comes to male OBGYNs. They obviously put the work in to be able to understand and help women.
