in my teens I was a mess and lost on new years. I walked up to a house with the porch light on crying. They gave me a ride home that night. I am so thankful for them! A random act of kindness can be remembered for a life time.

had a huge fight with my mom when i was 10 and she threw me out, walked for 5 hours until i came across a go kart track and asked the 18ish man at the register if i could call home. I forgot the number so he ended up bringing me to my dads workplace. Never forgot abt it till this day

I got lost after working at a fair looking for my truck after my shift at night. I was so scared, alone, crying, my phone died, and I got to the point of knocking on random doors asking for help. The amount of people letting a 17 year old girl be ignored or told to go away made me so desperate. It wasnt until I ran into a woman in her car where she vouched that the man she was talking to was her brother and a good man. He helped me find my car saying how their winding neigborhood street makes people get lost. Its been over 10 years since then and I still remember their 1 act of kindness. We need to be more kind to strangers. If it wasnt for them, something truly horrifying could have happened.

See people with Alzheimer's gets lost all the time and they don't have the whereabouts to ask somebody to use their phone. It can happen to anybody.

I once got lost and ran off after a fight with my sister and i couldn’t see due to my glasses and remembered something i was told told in elementary school which was if your lost or being followed look for someone who has kids and i saw a lady and her husband with kids and ran to them crying explaining my situation and they helped me get home. I will forever remember them and am thankful i got home.

I had a phone when I was younger but I also had crippling anxiety over getting grounded if I missed a call to the point where id get panicked if it died, carried a cord and block everywhere with me and to this day I pick up any call from any number instantly

Just some days ago I got lost trying to find a place in a city I didn't know, the place was so unknown even the Google Maps didn't give me the right direction, tried walking there since I went a few times with my partner, but ended up lost and started crying because I was so nervous idk, an old lady who was walking her dog helped me calm down and called a taxi for me and even paid the ride 😭😭😭😭

Me and my friends were chased by a guy with a gun when I was in highschool and I asked a random man who was outside if I could stay with him and he let me and scared the guy off

I had a police officer in Florida on the golf side in 92 saved me from a could’ve been a horrible situation on spring break I don’t know who he was but he called my father in the Midwest and made sure I was staying safe , I know to this day he saved my life cause I was walking I got accidentally got left behind , when you don’t have cell phones and pagers you sometimes you just can’t communicate , I just know I had to call my dad ❤️

I cried when I got lost too, my mom gardens with her phone close to her a lot so the water messed up her phone I called her from like five phones multiple times on each one and finally just asked this lady to take me home. I still got in trouble for letting a stranger take me home, but what else was I supposed to do?
