its faith its so clearly faith. Did the thief next to Jesus have time to do works? No he had only the short momment he shared on this earth with Christ and he cried out for forgiveness and asked the Lord if he would remember him in his kingdom. Jesus took his faith and took him into the kingdom.

This will forever be the dumbest thing we argue over. You can't have one without the other. If you have faith, you produce good works. Why would you do good works in the Lord without faith? So incredibly exhausting for literally no reason.

Lutheranism is probably the closest protestant denomination to Catholics (Anglicans/Episcopalians too, probably, I don't really research them much), but they are in that uncanny valley of being so close to being right but stopping right before they get it.
