They don’t suffer forever, they need to take accountability, then work on changing behavior and rebuilding the damaged trust. It becomes perpetual, because a person can’t easily change their way. And repent from past trespass.

I used to drown on my own hate, I did stuff Im not proud, stuff that made me hate my self a lot, and that had me scared I was gonna become a bad person, I learned a lot of where that stuff I did came from, how all connected and how it dint had to define me, so I got away from the bad stuff, and I learn every day how I can forgive my self, and stop punishing my younger self, how to accept that it happens but that it doesn't have to be all of me, idk, it was a feeling I wouldn't wish on anyone
